The Art Corps program at OVMS
Is generously funded by your donations to our PTSA. Art Corps is a comprehensive, developmental curriculum that teaches art fundamentals by bringing hands-on art experiences to every classroom at Oak Valley. Art Corps leaders train parent volunteers, teaching them how to demonstrate techniques and use different materials to create works of art.
Five projects are taught in Social Studies periods through the year. The inspiration for the art is tied to the historical lessons the classes are studying, and it's a valuable opportunity for every student to bring those lessons to life through artwork. Each student at Oak Valley selects one piece from the year's projects to display in our annual art show, which is open to students, parents and the public.
