I found a new promo yest. from Target.  Basically, you vote for your school, and for every 25 votes you get, you get a $25 Target Giftcard for the school…up to $10,000 per school!  Each person can vote once per week, and promo goes through Sep 8th.  I started Del Sur’s at 4:00 yest & we just reached our first $25 reward mark.  We are going to use them as teacher “prize” drawings, but they can go for anything the school chooses…paper, ink, games, art, etc…  There are more than enough of us around, that all our schools should be able to get quite a few cards.  Just ask everyone to forward to their friends too, and vote each week.
visit www.facebook.com/target  and make sure to “VOTE”, not “like”!  It takes 2 minutes!
Thanks,
Pam

I would like to place calendar items on this web page including a count down to the start of the new year. Where can I get a listing of important dates as they stand right now that we can post?

Okay folks I am getting ready to update the website. I am thinking about making dedicated pages to each of the positions that are on the board relating to membership, fundraising, etc. that would be updated by the board member responsible for those duties. Other ways this could be done is by providing thoughts on what you think that section could contain. Either way, I am really looking forward to updating this website for this years activities and drives. I think it is important to have a central theme for the website that is related to the focus of this years organization, so some help writing that up would be appreciated. vr/Marc Habel

Hello everyone and welcome to the new school year from your website administrator. I do not know how long we will keep this way of communicating going using blogs and news feeds but I encourage all people on the PTSA board as well as regular PTSA members to use this medium as a way to distribute information. I have noticed that all the members are very familiar with using email as their only form of communication and information dissemination. We have established this website as a method to make that form of communication more easy and make the information more accessible to all. Whether it works out or not at least we can say we gave it a try, it would not take much effort to remove the news feed functionality from the website and keep it as a way of just posting information to people in a one way manner.

Personally, I think that would be a waste.

Anyway, I’ll try to stay off my “let’s get modern” people soapbox and do a more thorough job of monitoring the discussion boards on this website.

Alright guys now is the time to start getting data you want to see posted on the website together. The easiest way is to actually post the information you want to see on the website the same as I have posted this notice. I look forward to starting to see the interesting and exciting things you come up with. We need to get our creativity going to use this tool to promote the PTSA and be effective this year!
